Lines: 17 If root attempts to change the password of another user with the 'passwd username' command, the command hangs, and the registry becomes unavailable. The files /etc/passwd and /etc/group become empty. Sometimes one experiences bad side-effects, such as: The rgyd daemon does not respond any more. All pending nfs connections abort. New nfs connections are refused. This situation is usually restored automatically, if you are lucky within some 10 minutes. This is unacceptable.
