If you create as root a file on a remote (non-apollo) nfs filesystem,
and you do an 'ls -l' for that remote file, the owner is shown as '-1'
by the bsd ls and as '4294967295' by the sysv ls.

On the remote system, the local 'ls -l' shows properly '-2'.
