From Issue #22 of GeoWorld, GEOS Hardware News "geoRam" article:

	The new geoRAM card uses CMOS chips, which use less power and can 
be plugged directly into the C64 without the need for a larger power
supply.
	The geoRAM acts like the 1750 with the exception that since it lacks
a controller chip the DMA options are lost which means that certain
applications, such as screen refresh in geoPaint, will be slower than
the 17XX using DMA to move data.
	The geoRAM is only compatible with GEOS and comes with an upgraded
version of GEOS (2.0R), which contains a new kernal, configure, and RAM
driver.
