(I should mention that the J3100 comes with 1.5Mb standard). Figuring the cost of the the T1000 + 768K RAM + 3rd party backlit LCD upgrade alone brought the price to at least 10% more than what I paid for the J3100. Getting the higher display quality (note that it is only double scan CGA - you don't have access to all the additional pixels), the higher capacity drive were a bonus. I believe this is still true even when using the heavily discounted price that the T1000 sells for today.
