While phoning to register my copy, I learned the following from the 4DOS people. 'DIR/dp filename' will only search current and child directories for the requested file. However 'DIR/DP \filename' (with a backslash before the filename) will start the search from the root directory. However, the output is not as clean as standalone WHEREIS-type utilities.
