Please reply soon my account > expires for the semester Monday! > The Hard disk must have 3.5" form factor to fit, possibly a Miniscribe or similar. There are two possibilities : (1) Remove 2nd floppy, then put in the harddisk instead. Not recommended if you're used to having two floppy disk drives. (2) Placing the HD between power supply and bus card. (The buscard is the one which stands up. It also contains a battery for the real time clock.) There is enough space to fit a Miniscribe (e.g.) with ca. 10 mm left on each side. The problem is to mount the disk securely. The best way seems to be to put two strips of metal on top, screw the Hard disk to that and then put it inside the computer that way, with the HD hanging down from the strips and the strips being supported on the left and right by the power supply and the bus card. Controller: You can user almost any XT-controller. I recommend OMTI, Adaptec or WD. It is possible to use a RLL-controller! The adress would be C800: , just like in a regular XT. *********************************************************************** * + * * Ralf-Henning Glomb + Love glider pilots * * Dorfstrasse 4 + we need more of them * * D - 5190 Stolberg + * * (West -Germany) + * * ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++* * !!!!!!!!!!!
