I use both PCs and Macs daily and own both a PC and a Mac. CorelDraw is by far the best drawing program available for a PC, and while it might have a few features that MacDraw doesn't have, CorelDraw is in general a sad imitation of MacDraw. And MacDraw is a low-end product. I wanted more power, so I switched to Canvas, and it *really* leaves CorelDraw in the dust. CorelDraw/Windows barely has enough memory to run on a 640K PC and is very slow comparatively. On my SE I can easily upgrade to 4 Megs of RAM and MacDraw or Canvas can both make use of the extra RAM. There are definately some things that a PC can do better than a Mac, but if I want to draw a diagram and paste it into my text document, it is *much* easier to do this sort of thing on a Mac. Period. PC's might have more monitor choices and more graphics choices and more software, but that doesn't mean that it makes the PC better. In fact, all the wierd monitor types makes software installation very messy. On a Mac you can have 1 SE-size screen, or 2 screens, or 1 color, or 1 Black/white, and any software package can make full use of any monitor, any size, any color. On my SE I can use the little screen and my big full page display. PCs have a long way to go to catch up with the Macintoshes far superior graphics/program integration. And that is an UNBIASED comment. -- Paul H.
