Exactly how does the problem with the Quantums manifest itself?
I have an 80M Quantum external, Maxcess brand.  It's worked fine
for me for more than 6 months, but I'd like to know what to watch
for.

Note that since this is an external, I can let it spin up before
powering on the Mac.  So I never see any problem with failure to
boot because the drive doesn't come alive soon enough.
