I can think of a lot of reasons why you'd want NFS on a Mac, particuliarly if you are going to hook up your Mac(s) up to a Sun especially. Maybe you're running a pre-4.0 version of SunOS, I know that causes a lot of problems with NFS inspite of the fact the protocol is standard. Why would somebody want to run a pre-4.0 version of SunOS? Simple, there's a bit of software out there that won't run on SunOS 4.0. Don't ask me why some vendors don't upgrade their software or take it at a snail's pace to do the upgrade, but they do. Not only do I want NFS capability on the Mac, I'm about ready to yell at SCO for not making it available for Xenix especially after seeing that the Xenix-Net developer's kit has TCP/IP and the BSD socket library. Now something's not quite right here, the developer's kit has everything you need to develop NFS, but SCO hasn't done it yet and the official rumor I've heard is that they never plan to for Xenix. // JCA /* **--------------------------------------------------------------------------* ** Flames : /dev/null | My opinions are exactly that, ** ARPANET : crash!pnet01!jca@nosc.mil | mine.
