I get it too! Is this a problem? I'm gonna call the dealer soon! However, the high pitch (unnoticable unless you take notice) doesn't seem to have a pattern for me. It toggles on and off with mouse clicks and keyboard keys being pressed. Sometimes if I hold the mouse button, the whine will start, at other times it will stop. It's starting to bother me! I just got this! I happened to notice, I have a Quantum hard disk. Could it be the hard disk? Are the Quantum hard disks that Apple is shipping with the SE/30 all new drives with no problems or are they "fixed" versions? Help! --Willi
