Yes, all of the methods you mentioned will work. However, SUM Tools is not for the weak of heart and not everyone has Disk Express. Luckily, this problem is something which Disk First Aid, on the Apple Utilities disks which come with the Mac, can fix. All you have to do is launch Disk First Aid and press the "repair" button or some such. The problem will go away. -- Mark Wilkins
