I downloaded it, unpacked it, and dropped it in the system folder of my Mac Plus. Then I opened the Chooser and selected JCRemote without rebooting my machine. Nothing happened for several minutes (the machine displayed the watch cursor, and wouldn't respond to Command-.) then I got a bomb box (ID = 25). There was a restart button in the bomb box, so I pushed it, but the bomb box returned. So I rebooted my machine, but that failed: I had to replace the System file before I could reboot from the hard disk. Luckily I lost no data files. I recommend you supply some documentation accompanying JCRemote, including installation instructions, i.e., REBOOT MACHINE BEFORE TRYING TO RUN JCRemote. You might also mention which machines you've tested it on. Finally, I tried JCRemote again, and managed to fetch files from another machine. But I noticed some problems: After invoking the Fetch command, if I descended into a folder of the other Mac, I couldn't use the normal pop-up to get back out of that folder: the pop-up would display, but wouldn't respond to the mouse. I couldn't fetch an entire folder: it would create the folder on my machine, but would then get an error -37 for each of the constituent files it tried to fetch. If the program is fruitlessly searching for other machines running JCRemote, it doesn't provide a way to cancel. There should be a cancel button. Eventually, JCRemote seems to time out and bomb with ID = 25 (out of memory?). By the way, I was curious why I had to type the "empty password" to StuffIt in order to unpack the file.
