The first one is quite wasteful: feed in a sheet before your document by pressing form feed. This way is not always reliable. The second is more reliable: switch the paper knob (located on the back of the right side of the printer) to the down position so that you do NOT have the printer selected for continuous feed paper (even though you will probably be using continuously-fed paper). I think that it was in MacWorld that I read using a Post-It Note at the top of the page, but I am not sure what exactly the method was, so you can use your imagination.
