I have been using a Prometheus 2400G for, let's see, about two years now, and I have had no problems of any sort, far less the problems you describe. The fact that all your modems have this problem leads me to believe that it must in fact be something in your local environment that is causing the problem. Perhaps you are all using software that doesn't interact correctly with the Prometheus in setting the baud rates to be used. Have you tried a variety of terminal programs? Have you tried taking one with you on a business trip to another part of the country and seeing if you have the same problem? It's possible you got a bad batch of modems, in which case I believe there is a warranty. But the fact that all your modems exhibit behavior which I have not seen and which I've never heard of from other Prometheus users really does lead me to believe there is some local environmental factor behind this mess. -- Tim Maroney, Mac Software Consultant, sun!hoptoad!tim, tim@toad.com These are not my opinions, those of my ex-employers, my old schools, my relatives, my friends, or really any rational person whatsoever.
