WOW! Keywords: funky stuff, works for me. Message-ID: <168@norsat.UUCP> Date: 14 Dec 89 13:33:42 GMT Organization: NII Norsat International Inc. Surrey, BC, CANADA Lines: 38 Yesterday we got the first of a couple of dozen ESPIRIT terminals on evaluation, to compare against a WYSE 150 What a JOKE! the Wyse doesn't even come close! This ESPIRIT looks real nice, has a lazy-susan type base and tilt adjust. The brightness and contrast affect the high-light attribut (as they should) and has oodles of nice features. The only 'gotchas' ive seen so far is the keyboard is a bit differrent than the typical 101 key PC keyboard (so what else is new) Two independant setups for attaching to 2 hosts. vt100, vt200, wyse60, Ansi, pcterm and more emulations. Proper 8-bit PC-style ansi graphics (like SCO Console ANSI) and what really blew me away was the built-in clock/calendar/calculator/ telephone dialer that "pop-up" real fast and dont muck up the user screen. Also this babe supports line-drawing boxes using "ansi-ish" type control sequences, and you can move boxes around on the screen and preserve what was under them. I (as you can probably tell) am very enthusiastic about this terminal. Setup for WYSE60 Vt100 and ANSI worked first time (intuitive). ... Now that ive embarassed my-self with enthusiasm... anyone care to burst my optomistic bubble? is there anything *bad* about these terminals I'm just about out of my mind with happiness now and i know it wont last. o o > go ahead... *ruin* my day (-; v So far i've only "played" with it, any "real" users out there with experiences I should know about??
