    We've got X11r3 with the Purdue speedups running on several architectures
    here.  I am now trying to compile for the Sun-4's, and it is failing in
    server/ when trying to link Xsun - alloca() is undefined.

Make sure that you've set the OSMajorVersion and OSMinorVersion configuration
parameters....
