I'm aware of emacs-client but it appears only to support requests to edit files. Does anyone know if there is a way to tell emacs to use a specified X window so that it can operate within a pane of a coordinated set of windows ? I've heard that some capabilities for this sort of stuff might be in the version 19 release. How can I find out about this ? I'd like to do all of the above things without modifying Emacs if possible. -- scott parcel@intellicorp.com -------
