We've encountered a problem trying to compile GNU CC version 1.36 on a Sun 3 
with fpa, running os 4.0.3.

Following the step-by-step instructions outlined in the INSTALL file, 
everything went smoothly until step 9.  When we entered the following command 

	make CC=stage1/gcc CFLAGS="-g -O -Bstage1/"

we receive an error message about -Bstatic not being a valid option for ld.

We tried entering the -Bstatic option manually on the command line and 
received no problem at all.  The ld being called is in /usr/bin/ld.

tm.h 	is linked to 	./config/tm-sun3.h
md   	is linked to 	./config/m68k.md
