Following the step-by-step instructions outlined in the INSTALL file, everything went smoothly until step 9. When we entered the following command make CC=stage1/gcc CFLAGS="-g -O -Bstage1/" we receive an error message about -Bstatic not being a valid option for ld. We tried entering the -Bstatic option manually on the command line and received no problem at all.
