the drastic first aid is to get a new version of the file created..
     
delete the history.v60 file - NEWS will automatically create the file when
required to do so on the next execution.
     
the contents of the file are a history of old message ids used to prevent long
period news loops - in general the test of the Path: line is adequate, so the
history file is really added insurance rather than necessary information
