What you can do: find a section of the city that's denoted as a "tourist area", and see if you're lucky enough to have it include a hardware store. We're lucky - the Markham Main Street (Markham Road) Pro Hardware store is so designated, and is open from noon to 4pm on Sundays. T'is wonderful being able to fix plumbing leaks on a Sunday without resorting to plumbers.... Especially since this hardware store is one of the old fashioned kind that has *everything* "somewhere in back....".
