(Looks like rs232 db 25 connector with slide locks). I also had access to the Ampex D2 spec, which included info about the digital audio on their machines. RP125 is a SMPTE recommended practice which ONLY describes the hardware interface for a 8 to 10 bit 'ECL' logic parallel interface. Try calling Ampex Training Center in Redwood City Calif.
