I'm having a bit of trouble with the VMS side of things and was hoping someone io the world has done something similar. here'sthe proposed scene: A user logged onto the VAX through a 3COM term server connects to the the Wollongong TELNET server, then connecting to some application running under VMS. There is a "network" printer on a slave port on the 3COM that is used by the VAX. This is connected via use of TWG's 3COM print symbiont that looks like a logical VMS printer(I guess). The problem is how can I get the system to recognize when the Terminal user hits a "print screen" key and redirect the output to the network printer? I would think that some DCL could be written to tell the terminal driver that a special key had been hit, throw the screen buffer into a file, and then send it to the print symbiont, but has anyone actually DONE something like this? (Re-inventing the wheel has never been one of my goals in life (:*) ). I would greatly appreciate any comments/guidance that anyone would care to share.
