There is a "freeware" ditroff to PostScript translator that works
just fine. The name of the package is "tpscript" and was written
by Stephen Frede (then with UNSW). It was posted to net.sources a
couple of years ago. I think it was also reposted at least once. 
Somesite near you will probably have it in the archives. If you can't
find anybody willing to send it to you, you could ask me to do so.
