Contrary to popular belief, 
Soundtracker is NOT public Domain.
The versions you see floating around are most problably modified versions
of the original. (which didnt work on US machines). 
anyway, one of the most recent modified one is called Noisetracker.
It doesnt require the PLST list (you'll know what a bitch it is to create it).

compared to soundtracker 2.4 (the most recent one), noise trakcer is still 
the winner as in its ease of use.
