If you are willing to pay 'top $$$' then why not get a Supra or a Pacific Peripherals or a Comspec controller? Then any SCSI drive will work. All three of these companys make controllers for the 1000 (or the 500 which I have been assured will work on a 1000) and they continue to support their products with upgrades to their software. PP is low with a price of about $200 and Comspec is high at about $300. These are list prices but my research resulted in only $10-20 discounts which would cover tax and shipping. I don't have any of these products - or any hard disk. But I am keeping my finger on the pulse of SCSI stuff. I figure I might break down and get one when 1.4 comes out with better (reportedly) support for all types of SCSI transfers. Dana @ cup.portal.com
