Although the original Pen Pal was garbage, the latest version is not.  
It has a few cosmetic bugs (it doesn't always refresh the screen when 
needed), but it prints excellently, and never crashes.  The latest 
version is 1.2, if you really want to look at it.  I was fustrated at 
the early versions when it constantly crashed, but I phoned the company 
and found that they had excellent service, and I recieved an update with
all the problems I mentioned fixed a week and a half later.  They have a
FREE upgrade policy, so if you buy it and send in your registration you 
will get updates as they are made.  I highly reccomend it for small 
documents.  (My only complaint is the massive amount of memory it takes,
so you can't make large documents with lots of graphics.  It loads a 
database into memory at the same time as the word processor, even if you
never use it, like me.)
