Thanks. [ summary of responses omitted ] (Sorry I missed this thread or I would have replied earlier, Jeff.) I made quite a few changes to the version on Fred Fish disk #193 to make the output of the Sozobon compiler recognizable to Charlie Gibbs' A68k assembler which generates Amiga-Hunk binary. I also ported Dale Schumacher's standard library, and the optimizer (top) that was on the same disk to the Amiga. When used with the freely distributable version of Software Distilleries, Blink, it is possible to compile, assemble, link and run fairly sophisticated C source programs such as A68k. I shar'ed the whole package and shipped it off to comp.sources.amiga at the beginning of July last year. That was about the start of the drought in amiga sources, and it still has yet to be posted. The package included a small program that makes it possible it create the equivalent of "amiga.lib" from the ".fd" files that are included with the standard workbench set. In late October, I received some mail from Johann Reugg, the author of Sozobon-C, that a new version would be out shortly in usenet atari sources. The new version fixes several bugs, and makes several improvements in the optimizer, and should have been out within a the following month. I've signed up for atari sources, but yet to see the new version. So, keeping in mind that I've been put in charge of an absorbing (but of course time-consuming) 9 month project at work. I guess my questions are: 1) Should I wait until the new version of Sozoban-C shows up in the Usenet Atari ST sources, and hope I have the time to add the changes to the Amiga version? 2) Will the old (July 89) version eventually show up in comp.sys.amiga so I can add and post Johann's changes at leasure? 3) Should I repost the present version (with a few minor fixes)? 4) Should I send the old version to Fred Fish. Fred seems to be more dependable at getting amiga software out to the Amiga community? (Take a well deserved bow, Fred). 5Suggestions welcome ... -- --- "Let's play a joke on the Sun Users Group", Tom suggested. // Jeff Lydiatt: jlydiatt@jlami.wimsey.bc.ca | From the desk \X/ UUCP {uunet,cs.ubc.ca}!jlami.wimsey.bc.ca!jlydiatt | of Tom Swiftie.
