Should be DBase compatible, but that may run into legal difficulties. The spreadsheet would need to be a real zinger to be profitable, again a scripting language would likely be the best. Stand alones need to allow custom interfaces and other niceties to beat out Appleworks. Porting FoxBase/Mac to the GS would be my idea of a profitable endeavour. :-|
