Not every thing in Apple2-L is in ShrinkIT or Binary II format (although if the BIN file is BQY, BNY, or SHK then ShrinkIT should be able to deal with it. HOWEVER, the BIN file is NOT complete (even though the directory entry looks fine) UNLESS ALL PARTS have been run through BinSCII. There are two ways to do that - Run BinSCII on each part separately using the same target volume and you'll get the whole file, or concatenate all the text parts into one giant file and let BinSCII sort through for all the pieces. BinSCII's cute - you can run BinSCII on the parts in any order and there can be mail headers and other junk in the file and BinSCII should still be able to separate the 'good stuff' from the junk. The symtoms you describe are consistent with not having run BinSCII on all the pieces of the original file (which are often in separte APPLE2-L files because of the large number of systems which have limits on the size of email messages. /s Murph [Internet] or ...{psuvax1 or mcvax}!uconnvm.bitnet!sewall [UUCP] + Standard disclaimer applies ("The opinions expressed are my own" etc.)
