The fix is simple, though not really recommended. Put the SCSI card in SLOT 1. This will allow Appletalk to work from slot 7, slot 5 and 6 can be used for disk purposes, and slots 2, 3, and 4 can be left alone. Set slot 1 for the "your card" setting, and everything will work. I had this configuration for over a year on my older GS before I got a new one. Apparently as someone in AppleDTS told me some time ago, even though the card is supposed to go into slots 4, 5, 6, or 7, slot 1 will work also. This will also allow you to use any network printer over Appletalk, which I also assume that you are doing.
