Although I am a avid Programmer on the PC 80x88 architecture, I aslo (aslo?) program quite a bit on the Unix systems. If I were to switch to a NeXT system, the only regret that I might have would be that my games would no longer run :-). As far as editors and user oriented programs, I would miss very little. Granted the Turbo Debugger would be missed, but I'm sure I'd make do. A reminder is that I'm a programmer by trade and that as long is there is an assortment of compilers/assemblers/support packages that I'll be happy. If I were a user looking a NeXT system, I might want to hold off for a bit until it was release to the general public and see what programs become available for it from second and third party vendors and possibly what peripherals become available (although what else would you need with it?). Also, I do a fair amount of graphics oriented programming and I'd like to see color graphics, but I hear that they're working on a color display for it.. Anyway my two bits.
