I have just about had it with Ontrack's product.  The problem is this, Disk
Manager thinks that an ST412/506 drive is SCSI.  What was going on was this, I
was getting a machine ready to have ELS Netware Level II put on it by have the
hard drive low level formatted.  The system configuration is this:
drive is a Seagate ST4096.  The version of Disk Manager was 4.0.  Now here's

WD1006V-MM2
Seagate ST4096

The version of Disk Manager was 4.0.  But Disk Manager thinks that the drive
is a SCSI drive.  Why?  I called up Seagate and filed a bug report last
Thursday, but they haven't returned my call yet.  And here's something
funnier, the problem has replicated itself on my home system, and here's what
it has:

80-Data 16 Motherboard (16 Mhz/1 wait 286, G-2 Chip Set)
Seagate ST151
WA3-16
 
The version of Disk Manager I used was 3.3.  I know, old and before the ST151,
but I didn't get a copy of it with my ST151, so I used the copy I got with my
old ST225, worked right the first time.  I attempted to reformat the drive
because it is giving me problems when I power up the system for the first
time, and Disk Manager insists that the drive is a SCSI drive.

I know that the drive is ok (or seems to be) because after the drive does
start up properly, the data is intact.  I suspect the controller and I'm about
to yell at Kimpsion International over this.
