Subject: Is Miniscribe still alive?

We were going to purchase some Miniscribe hard drives, but since we
have heard that Miniscribe was in trouble, we haven't send out the
purchase order yet.  Today I talked to a friend in CA, and according
to him, the Miniscribe is "GONE".  Is there anybody who know what
is going on, or if this rumor is true (it may be true in certain 
degree)?

Our major concern is about the warranty service.  The truth is, the
Leading Edge still owe their dealers a lot of money, and the warranty
service is still very slow and inefficient.
