Well, the IIci and Portrait Display I got a couple of weeks ago came with 
the right cable. In fact the box in which the display was packed had a 
special orange sticker on it indicating the fact that the right cable was 
provided in the box. Since I had no idea that such a cable would be 
required, my experience seems to be the opposite of Maurice's in that 
Apple was one step ahead of me in providing what I needed without my 
asking for it.
