I've tried 'mount -r /dev/od0a /dev/' 'mount -o ro /dev/od0a /dev/' When I try either of the above, I get a dialog box with a message to insert a disk. When I do, I immediately (without spin-up) get: od0?: drive command failed (disk write protected) block 0 phys block 0 (4149:0:0) and the disk is ejected. If I plug the disk in again, it spins up, then I get od0?: write failed (disk write protected) block 0 phys block 0 (4149:0:0) and the disk is again ejected. Anybody got any suggestions? Please e-mail responses to jpm@lanl.gov. (I'm a couple of weeks behind in reading this group.) If someone solves the problem, I'll post to the group. Thanks, Pat McGee, jpm@lanl.gov .
