Lines: 23 Well, I got the answer to my problem from the Geometry Hotline. As you may recall, whenever I tried to start the Workspace, I got a message complaining that it could not connect to the File Access Manager. It turns out that my YP server is not a SGI machine, it's a Sun. And that machine does not have the necessary entries in /etc/rpc to make the Workspace work. To fix the problem, add these lines to /etc/rpc on your server: sgi_toolkitbus 391001 sgi_fam 391002 Then cd to /var/yp on your server (probably /usr/etc/yp for pre-4.0 Suns) and do a "make rpc". Reboot your SGI, and the Workspace will work!
