For HP, xpr defaults to the HP LaserJet. For a LaserWriter, I don't know what it should be. What is the model of the LaserWriter? Check the man page for xpr. It says you have to specify -device lw for the LaserWriter. If this does not work, please let us know. Unfortunately, the -device lw is equivalent to -device ps. This code was not written at HP, we simple accepted it from MIT (sigh), and must be taken with a grain of salt when applied to our printers. Lori A.
