Obviously something is amiss with this proposal and while you may not care, other people do. A 'no' vote seems appropriate to me if you're going to insist on carrying out the vote regardless of the fact that many (most?) people never saw any discussion of this proposal on news.groups. All you had to do was repost your call. That's all; no big deal and only a slight delay. Seems like the simplest kind of net courtesy to me.
