We need to recommend a particlur modem for use in Europe. The questions are: Is there a standard modem that is used throughout Europe ? For synchronous communications ? For asynchronus communications ? Are PEP modems, Telebit for example, widely used ? Are V.32 modems in use ? Do standards like Bell 202 apply there ? What is V.21 BIS ? Are there interoperability issues we should be aware of ? Are line-use-tarriff costs associated with various modems different ? If I was to offer a 19.2KB TB+ connection to Europe, what regulatory organizations are involved ? If you have the time, and please respond. Thank You, -Alex Huppenthal -- Alex INTERNET: alex@comsys.COM Huppenthal UUCP: {cs.utexas.edu!texbell}!netdev!alex Communication Systems Research 6045 Buffridge Tr, Dallas, TX 75252
