I am having some real trouble getting my new USRobotics HST 14400 to 
connect to an old V22 (1200bps) modem. The USR modem just doesn't accept
the carrier that the old modem is transmitting, and hangs up. From what I
can understand from the manual, one shouldn't have to change any settings
for this to work, nor are there any settings I can change. However on some
other modems , one has to select which of Bell212A and V22 to use. 
Are there anybody who has managed to connect with a real V22 modem? (Not
one of the new 2400/1200/300 bps modems - they seems to connect alright
although I suspect they do it in Bell 212A mode.)
