The USR modem just doesn't accept the carrier that the old modem is transmitting, and hangs up. From what I can understand from the manual, one shouldn't have to change any settings for this to work, nor are there any settings I can change. However on some other modems , one has to select which of Bell212A and V22 to use. Are there anybody who has managed to connect with a real V22 modem? (Not one of the new 2400/1200/300 bps modems - they seems to connect alright although I suspect they do it in Bell 212A mode.) /* Peter Eriksson (InterNet: d89.p-eriksson@linus.ida.liu.se) */
