At our university we have all our printers sitting on ethernet
addresses, routed by a terminal server (BRIDGE). A simple filter
uses the yp map for the hosts, to lookup the addresses of the
printer names given as arguments, or other ethernet hosts,
and link to them via sockets. Depending on the current cost of the
hardware, this might be a simple and neat solution for your office.
