How much of this stuff is proprietary? For example, where can I find out about V.42, V.42bis, & MNP-xx? Does anybody have an address of CCITT docs? Also, I notice in magazine performance tests, that there is quite a difference in effective throughputs depending upon the type of data sent ie. text, binary. What effect does sending already compressed data have? eg sending a .lzh or a .zip file through a V42.bis modem? <-Harvey PS. Does anybody have any info on MNP-8? Does anybody have any info on LAP-M?
