Lint isn't in 1003.2 draft 9 (at least it's not in the index). The name 'c89' is harmless, provided all implementors are sensible enough to provide a 'cc' as well (in many cases these will be different--c89 has to be ANSI but cc might contain ANSI-prohibited extensions).
