As for your snapshot problem...I THINK (my emphasis) it works only one level up at a time. That is...hold the shift key, click on the icons you want snap-shoted, then (while still holding shift key), click on the drawer icon also, then (still holding shift key), use the workbench "Snapshot" tool.
