At least in Sweden, and in Germany too, some companies advertise about a product called kickselector it allows you to have 3 kickstarts at once just selecting which to boot with a switch on the outside.That should minimize the trouble of exchanging your kick. As of incompabilities the only problem should be if the programmers pays no attention to the guidelines Commodore have given, to the programmers, about how to code a upwards compatible program. The real problem is that few programmers will use the new features just because there exists quite a few 1.2 and 1.3 on the market.
