I have contacted both companies >and what I get from CSA is that they have tried to get Microbotics to work I have a Ronin Hurricane accelerator in my 1000, and a Comspec 2meg expansion card. The thing didn't work when the Comspec was installed, so I called Ronin and they said "it's probably the expansion card." I said "nawwww..." and the Ronin sat in a box for 6 months because although a 68020 is nice, it's not much use with 512K ram. Finally I got an opportunity to borrow my brother's memory expansion card, and it works fine with the 68020. Moral of the story: this seems to be a somewhat common problem. It also seems to vary with individual units, because the person I bought my Ronin card from used another seemingly identical Ronin with a seemingly identical Comspec and had no trouble. I would suggest that you beg, borrow, or steal another expansion card, and see if it works with the accelerator. If it does, see if you can trade yours for the other. I traded my Comspec to my brother for his junky old BareBoards card which is big and ugly and has no pass-through, but at least it works. The Comspec works fine on an un-accelerated system. - Ranjit "Trespassers w" ranjit@eniac.seas.upenn.edu mailrus!eecae!netnews!eniac!... Forward in all directions!
