For example, what is the minimum set of files I need to get LaTeX going? I don't want to grab it all. Is the LaTeX intallation documentation all I need to know to get it running, or do I need some special tips? Better yet, are the binaries available? What about a machine defs file for Kyoto? My past experience has been somewhat negative on making things work on the Apollo. I even got the binaries for GNU emacs once (for 10.1) but the system said it wasn't a valid object file. At other times I tried compiling a system using "make" but the syntax/options/etc? for cc are non-"standard". Am I off in left field? I've never had these problems with Digital. (No offense intended.) There just doesn't seem to be any Apollo guys around here to ask such questions. John Baugh
