Some friends of mine are having some problems with their 1027 letter quality printer. They are using AtariWriter on a 65XE ( I think it's AtariWriter-- it's been years since I've worked on my 800 system! ). The problem is that when they try to print out a document, the printer starts to print, but then with now warning, it starts to print garbage and skip spaces and such. I'm 150 miles away from where they are so I only know what is wrong from what they say over the phone. Any suggestions for a fix, or does it sound like the printer is dying for good? I have suggested cleaning the printer up and checking the cables, but after they swapped in some good cables the problem was still there. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
