I found that Opus is very particular about the ASSIGN file format. In particular, the device entries can't have anything extra around them, and device number MUST be 2 digits long. That is, the following line will not work: 1r screen.sys But this one should be okay: 01r screen.sys It may have also complained when the drivers selected used upper case (or the other way around -- I'm not at my system right now, so most if this is just vague recollection). Play with the device driver entries though, it took me several hours to get it right.
