As perhaps you already know, as mentioned in the UX-Maze monthly post (few message back) by Alex Liu, there are several VT100 program for the C64. What is more Kermit V2.0 can also be ran in the C64. This is what I am doing right now. I think that your version of Kermit terminal program doesn't work on your friends C64 because the initialization file that is used by the main program of Kermit is configured for the C128. Therefore another copy of Kermit might work for him. The program is available from the UX-Maze mail server and from Purdue FTP site.
